ROOFTOPS
Package units that actually keep performing through Vegas summers.

Rooftop package units (RTUs) are the most common HVAC configuration on commercial buildings across Las Vegas, shopping centers, single-story offices, restaurants, warehouses, and tilt-up industrial buildings almost universally rely on them. They are also the most abused. Mounted directly in 115°F summer sun, hammered by dust storms, baked through 4,000+ cooling hours per year, RTUs in Clark County wear out faster than the same equipment in any other US climate. Most building owners discover this when a tenant complains, a compressor lock-out trips on the hottest day of the year, or a service contractor delivers a major capital quote for a problem that started as a missed maintenance item worth a fraction of it.

Constant Air Balancing and Services provides rooftop HVAC service, replacement, and balancing across the full Clark County market. We work with all major manufacturers, Carrier, Trane, Lennox, York, Daikin, Aaon, Bryant, and Goodman/Amana. NCI-certified diagnostics let us measure what each unit is actually delivering at the supply diffuser, not just whether the compressor turned on. Most commercial HVAC contractors stop at the unit; we follow the air all the way through the duct system because that is where most rooftop performance complaints actually originate.

We service single rooftop units on small retail strips and 30-plus-unit fleets on larger industrial campuses. Our scope covers preventive maintenance, refrigerant-circuit diagnostics, control-board troubleshooting, economizer service, condenser-coil cleaning (which alone can reclaim 15-20% of lost capacity in dust-loaded Vegas conditions), full-system balancing, and end-of-life replacement planning. When we balance a multi-RTU building, we make sure every zone gets the airflow the design intended, not whatever shows up when the dampers happen to be where the previous contractor left them.

Replacement timing is where we save building owners the most money. Rooftop units rarely die in one event, they decline over three to five years, with capacity loss masked by tenants who just turn the thermostat down and leases that come up before anyone tracks utility cost. We document performance data on every service call, and that data drives a defensible capital plan: which units to replace this year, which to milk through one more summer, which to upgrade to higher-efficiency models for the energy savings. Commercial HVAC service without that data is reactive. We make it proactive.

Our Process
How we deliver results, not guesses
PROCESS
Documented methodology for every job.
01

Diagnostic Site Walk

We catalog every rooftop unit on the building, make, model, age, refrigerant type, observed condition, and current performance against rated capacity. This builds the baseline that drives every recommendation that follows.

02

Performance Measurement

Every unit gets refrigerant pressures, supply/return temperatures, amp draw, capacity-vs-rated calculations, and economizer functional check. We measure; we do not quote.

03

Targeted Service

Whether the call is preventive maintenance, a no-cool emergency, or a planned coil cleaning, we perform the specific work needed. No padded scope, no four-figure invoice for a contactor when the actual problem was a dirty filter.

04

Whole-Building Balancing

Multi-RTU buildings need their zones balanced or one unit ends up doing the work of three. We measure airflow at every diffuser, adjust dampers, and document the resulting CFM-per-zone before we leave.

05

Replacement Planning

Based on measured capacity loss, age, and refrigerant phase-out exposure (R-22, R-410A), we produce a written replacement schedule that fits your capital budget, not the vendor’s pipeline.

Why Constant
What sets us apart for
ROOFTOPS
Brand-agnostic, balance-aware, capital-aware.

Every Major Brand

Carrier, Trane, Lennox, York, Daikin, Aaon, Bryant, Goodman, we service them all and stock parts for the most common. One contractor, one phone number, every roof.

Balanced, Not Just Running

Most commercial HVAC contractors stop at the unit. We balance the duct system so the air the RTU is producing actually reaches the zones that need it.

Documented Capital Planning

Every service call adds to your equipment performance record. That data becomes a defensible replacement schedule for your finance team, not a vendor sales pitch.

The difference between cycling and
PROVEN

Rooftop units take the full brunt of the Las Vegas sun all summer, baking on a black roof while they fight to cool the building below. That punishment is exactly why they need real service and not a quick look, because a rooftop unit running hot and dirty fails fast.

We service and install rooftop package units with the charge, airflow, and electrical all measured against spec, plus the economizer and controls checked so the unit runs efficiently. A rooftop unit short cycling in the afternoon heat is usually telling you something specific, a low charge, a dirty coil, or a controls fault, and the readings point straight to it. We prove the fix with numbers before we leave the roof.

For commercial properties, a rooftop unit on a service schedule simply lasts longer. See rooftop work in the gallery.

Questions
What Las Vegas property owners ask about
ANSWERS
Common questions about rooftop hvac units in Las Vegas.
Do you service every brand of rooftop unit?
Yes, Carrier, Trane, Lennox, York, Daikin, Aaon, Bryant, Goodman/Amana, and most older models still in service across Clark County. NCI-certified diagnostics work the same regardless of manufacturer.
How often should rooftop units be serviced in Las Vegas?
Twice annually at minimum, pre-cooling-season (March/April) and pre-heating-season (October). High-cycle buildings (restaurants, retail with constant door traffic, warehouses with rapid load swings) often benefit from quarterly maintenance. Read our maintenance contract guide for details.
When does it make sense to replace a rooftop unit instead of repair?
When measured capacity has dropped more than 20% from rated, when the unit still uses R-22 (phased out, refrigerant cost is unsustainable), or when a major repair (compressor, coil, control board) exceeds 40% of replacement cost. We document the math so the decision is defensible.
Can you balance multi-RTU buildings?
Yes. Commercial air balancing across multi-RTU configurations is one of our core services. We measure airflow at every zone, identify imbalances, adjust dampers, and produce a written report.
Do you serve buildings outside Las Vegas?
Yes, we serve commercial properties throughout Clark County, including Henderson, North Las Vegas, Paradise, and surrounding communities.
