When central air isn’t the answer
DUCTLESS
Targeted comfort for the rooms that central HVAC can’t reach.

A ductless mini-split is the right answer when adding a bedroom, finishing a garage, conditioning a casita, or fixing a single hot room that the central system has never been able to reach. Instead of tearing into walls and ceilings to extend ductwork — which often costs more than the equipment itself and disturbs insulation that has no business being disturbed in a 110-degree desert — a mini-split delivers conditioned air directly to the space that needs it. One outdoor unit feeds one or several indoor heads, each with its own thermostat, each running only when its zone calls for it.

Constant Air Balancing and Services has installed mini-split systems across Las Vegas for room additions, ADUs, sunrooms, garage workshops, and second-story bedrooms that the original HVAC system was never sized to cool. We are NCI-certified, which matters for ductless because the entire performance of a mini-split lives in the line set, the refrigerant charge, and the indoor unit placement — three things most generic HVAC contractors guess at. We measure superheat and subcool on every install, verify airflow at each indoor head, and document the commissioning data so you have proof the system is performing at the rated capacity printed on the equipment label.

We install single-zone systems for one room, dual-zone for room-pairs (e.g., master bedroom + adjacent office), and multi-zone systems with up to eight indoor heads served by a single outdoor condenser. Brand selection matters in the Las Vegas climate — we recommend and stock Mitsubishi, Daikin, LG, and Fujitsu equipment because these manufacturers have proven inverter compressors that handle the desert heat without short-cycling. Cheap off-brand mini-splits routinely fail in Vegas summers; the SEER rating on the box does not save you when the compressor cuts out at 115°F outdoor.

The difference between a mini-split that just runs and a mini-split that actually keeps you comfortable in August is the install. We perform a Manual J load calculation for the space, size the outdoor unit accordingly (oversizing causes humidity problems, undersizing causes runtime problems), route the line set without unnecessary bends, vacuum and pressure-test the refrigerant lines, and verify performance at handover. Every install includes a written commissioning report with refrigerant pressures, supply temperatures, airflow at each head, and electrical draw — the same documentation we provide on every commercial HVAC service call.

Our Process
Sized right, installed right, verified right
PROCESS
Five steps from site visit to commissioning report.
01

Site Visit and Manual J

We measure the space, count windows, check insulation, and run a Manual J load calculation to determine exactly how many BTUs you need. Oversized mini-splits short-cycle and create humidity problems; undersized units run forever and never reach setpoint.

02

System Design

Single-zone or multi-zone? Wall-mount, ceiling cassette, or concealed-duct head? We match the equipment configuration to the space and the way you actually use it. Bedrooms, garages, and converted lofts each have different priorities.

03

Quality Installation

Line set routed cleanly, refrigerant lines pressure-tested and vacuumed to 500 microns before refrigerant release, condensate drained correctly, and electrical sized to manufacturer spec. Most field failures we diagnose come from rushed installs, not the equipment itself.

04

Commissioning

We measure superheat, subcool, refrigerant pressures, supply-air temperature, and airflow at every indoor head before we leave. If the equipment is not performing at rated capacity, we do not call the job done.

05

Performance Documentation

You receive a written commissioning report with all measured values, the manufacturer’s spec sheet, and a registration confirmation for the equipment warranty. Your file lives on our system for future service reference.

Why Constant
What sets us apart for
DUCTLESS
The diagnostic-first difference applied to mini-splits.

Right-Sized Systems

Every install begins with a Manual J load calculation. You get the BTU capacity that matches your space — not the unit that was on sale at the supply house.

Quality Equipment Partners

We install Mitsubishi, Daikin, LG, and Fujitsu — manufacturers whose inverter compressors are proven to survive Las Vegas summers. We do not chase margin on cheap private-label gear.

Verified Performance

Refrigerant charge, airflow per head, and supply temperatures all measured and documented before we leave. You get proof the system is performing — not just running.

Questions
What Las Vegas homeowners ask about
ANSWERS
Common questions about ductless mini-split installation in Las Vegas.
When does a mini-split make more sense than extending central HVAC?
Almost any time you are conditioning a single room, an addition, a casita, a garage, or a space the central system has never been able to reach. Extending ductwork through a finished house typically costs $4,000-$8,000 in drywall, insulation, and ducting before the equipment is even purchased. A single-zone mini-split usually installs cleaner, runs more efficiently, and gives you independent thermostat control for the space.
How many zones do I actually need?
One head per room is the simple answer, but most homes get more value from grouping rooms by use pattern. A master bedroom and adjacent office that you occupy at the same time can share a head; a garage workshop you only use on weekends should have its own zone so it can be off the rest of the week. We size and lay out zones based on how you actually live in the space.
Which brand do you recommend for the Las Vegas climate?
Mitsubishi and Daikin lead in compressor reliability above 110°F outdoor — that matters more than any other spec for our summers. LG and Fujitsu also perform well. We avoid private-label and off-brand units regardless of price; the supply chain on those typically does not support warranty service when something fails three summers in.
How long does a mini-split installation take?
A single-zone install typically completes in one day. Multi-zone systems with concealed line sets and four-plus indoor heads can take two to three days depending on routing complexity and electrical work. We schedule installs when you can be home for the commissioning walk-through at the end.
What does a mini-split installation cost in Las Vegas?
Single-zone systems for a single room typically range $3,500-$5,500 installed, depending on BTU size and indoor unit type. Multi-zone systems run $7,500-$15,000+ depending on the number of heads and brand. We provide written estimates after a site visit — no high-pressure sales calls. Contact us for a free estimate.
